Artist's words:

"In Hungary (where I created this artwork), homeowners are responsible for the piece of land between their property borders and the road. Everyones 'patch' as individual as its keeper.

Some parts of the roads have riots of colour, roses, iris', tulips others have teams of wild poppies, almost always there is an apple, plum, apricot, cherry or nut trees.

My husband told me that in the past, the government encouraged the residents of certain villages and suburbs to plant fruit trees outside their homes to make a variety of fruits available to all. An ethos of sharing resulting in decades of beauty.

The name of this artwork is also a play on the saying 'It takes a village to raise a child', the youthful colours of this piece make it ideal for a room that may contain children's toys, helping them blend seamlessly into the space.
