Finally... I am a Yoga Teacher! 🧘‍♀️

Finally... I am a Yoga Teacher! 🧘‍♀️

200 hours yoga teacher training... the only qualification I have dreamt about having since 2012 when I first start yoga. Before I had finished my first class I knew that yoga was going to play a big part in my life.

They marry perfectly, yoga and art. I know it is quite the cliché, artist and yoga teacher, but I never dreamt I would get a chance to become a yoga teacher. Nor did I think I could go back to art until at least retirement age, so if that makes me a cliché, I am proud as punch to be one, 30 years early, even better!

This was my fourth attempt to go to yoga teacher training, I almost made it to Thailand, India and twice to Tenerife, but circumstances kept getting in the way. So when I found this course in January 2020 only down the road in Greystones, County Wicklow I was delighted. It ran one weekend a month from February to June 2020 and one entire week at Easter, I thought nothing could stop me now!

How wrong I was, but then again, no one expected a worldwide pandemic. My classmates and I are so lucky that @rionachyoga moved swiftly to ensure we could do our modules online during lockdown and finish strong in person last week at Greystones Rugby Club to ensure social distancing.

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to achieve such an integral life goal in such difficult circumstances we all find ourselves in this year. Thank you Greystones Yoga Studio for welcoming me into your yoga family and for an unforgettable experience.

Namaste 🙏
